Resource Investment Volunteers Needed

January 10, 2024

Pocono Mountains United Way’s 2024/2025 Resource Investment Process is now underway, which means we will be looking for volunteers to review applications starting in February. Since our resource investment process is a community effort, we rely on volunteers from throughout Monroe County to help us evaluate agency applications.

Who can participate? Anyone over 18 years of age who lives, works, attends church, or attends school in Monroe County.

Our process involves two types of reviews, Finance Panel and Program Panel.

Finance Panel volunteers will begin in February to review the financial sections of the applications. Finance Panel volunteers should have a financial background and be comfortable reviewing financial documents.

Program Panel volunteers will begin reviewing the qualitative aspects of the applications in March, concentrating on the outcomes projected for the programs’ clients and the community.

The attached PMUW Resource Investment Volunteer Panels Flyer describes both panels and the expectations for volunteers in each panel. We will be hosting a Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, February 6th at 10:00am at NCC – Monroe Campus, which will be available in person or via Zoom. A recording of the orientation will also be sent out to all registered volunteers who are unable to attend.
