Speak Up for Early Childhood Education

Start Strong PA and Pre-K for PA aim to improve healthy development outcomes for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers by increasing support for and improving the quality of childcare programs that serve them.

The COVID-19 crisis and subsequent state-imposed economic shutdown has had profound negative consequences for early care and education providers in Pennsylvania and has exposed the fragility of our childcare system. We need individuals like you to sign-on support and show Pennsylvania legislators that Start Strong PA and Pre-K for PA mean business. Speak Up for Early Childhood Education in our community by signing on as a supporter of Pre-K for PA and Start Strong PA campaigns.

Expand Access to Mental Health Services by Passing the HELP Act

In the wake of COVID-19, millions of people have uncovered new mental health issues and millions more have had their existing challenges exacerbated. The COVID pandemic has accelerated the already dire mental health crisis, giving way to what many mental health professionals have called the “second pandemic.” We must act now to ensure that we scale up the response to the mental health crisis in the country.

The HELP Act will connect people in communities with the human-services and mental health resources they need while reducing the call and response burden on local and state law enforcement agencies.

Tell Congress to support the HELP Act and provide funding to strengthen 211 and 988 help lines and divert non-emergency, noncriminal calls from 911.

Stand Up for Working Americans

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC) are two of the best tools we have to reduce child poverty.

The economic havoc brought about by the coronavirus pandemic has wide-ranging and long-lasting effects, especially on low-wage workers, children and their families. Making the improvements made to the EITC and CTC through the American Rescue Plan permanent, would help millions of Americans from sliding into poverty and also stimulate local economies.

Support Working Pennsylvanians with a State Earned Income Tax Credit!

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is one of the most successful anti-poverty programs in America. EITC puts money back into working Pennsylvanians’ pockets, promotes work, and encourages economic growth!

As we rebuild the Commonwealth from the COVID-19 pandemic, smart investments in our workers need to be prioritized. Reach out to your state legislators today and ask that they help our hard-working Pennsylvania families and communities by enacting a state Earned Income Tax Credit!
