Resource Investment Volunteers Needed

December 15, 2025

Pocono Mountains United Way’s 2026/2027 Resource Investment Process is now underway, which means we will be looking for volunteers to review applications starting in February. Since our resource investment process is a community effort, we rely on volunteers from throughout Monroe County to help us evaluate agency applications.

Who can participate? Anyone over 18 years of age who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Monroe County.

Our process involves two types of reviews, Finance Panel and Program Panel.

Finance Panel volunteers will begin evaluating financial sections of the applications in February. Finance Panel Volunteers should have a financial background and be comfortable reviewing financial documents. Training for Finance Panel volunteers will take place on Thursday, January 29th at 9:00am via Zoom. (Those who are not available for the training will receive a link to a recording of the training)
Program Panel volunteers will begin reviewing the program specific aspects of the applications in March. The Program Panel training will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 9:00am via Zoom or in person at Northampton Community College – Pocono Campus in Tannersville (Those who are not available for the training will receive a link to a recording of the training).

The attached PMUW Resource Investment Volunteer Panels Flyer describes both panels and the expectations for volunteers in each panel. Evaluations are conducted online and on your own time!

If you are interested in taking part in this year’s Resource Investment Process, please sign up at https://fs10.formsite.com/FK5IxR/2026InvestmentVolunteers/index and a United Way staff member will be in touch regarding the upcoming trainings and investment process. While we hope to receive registrations from volunteers ASAP, we will need to receive RSVP’s from Finance Panel volunteers by January 28th and Program Panel volunteers no later than February 25th in order to make sure that we can assign volunteers to evaluations in time.
