Strengthening Community Health through Collaboration

March 10, 2025

Pocono Mountains United Way continues to build strong partnerships to address the critical health and social needs of our community. We recently welcomed Joe Pinto, the new Chief Operating Officer of Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono, to our office for a meaningful discussion on collaborative efforts to improve community health and address social determinants of health.

United Way has long recognized that factors such as access to housing, food security, transportation, and mental health services play a crucial role in overall well-being. As part of our commitment to these areas, our PoconoInfo Helpline, Housing Stability Programs, and investment in Food Access Initiatives have supported thousands of local families in times of crisis.

With Michael Tukeva, President/CEO of Pocono Mountains United Way, serving on the hospital’s Board of Associates, our organization is well-positioned to align efforts with healthcare leaders and strengthen initiatives that create lasting impact. This visit with Joe Pinto reaffirmed a shared vision for collaborative solutions that break down barriers to healthcare and essential resources.

As we continue forging partnerships within the healthcare sector, we invite community members and stakeholders to join us in advancing solutions that improve lives. Learn more about how you can make an impact on our community at https://poconounitedway.org/get-involved/
