Generation Next Program Wrap-Up: A Year of Growth, Exploration, and Success!

This school year, 50 motivated sophomores and juniors participated in the Gen Next program, with a growing reputation so strong that we welcomed new students referred by their own classmates—resulting in a waitlist for the first time!

Throughout the year, students visited five colleges—Centenary University, Penn State, East Stroudsburg University (ESU), Muhlenberg College, and the University of Scranton. After each tour, several students expressed newfound interest in applying to the schools they explored, expanding their visions for life after graduation.

In the classroom, Gen Next covered meaningful life and career skills. Students learned how to care for their mental health through coping strategies like journaling, meditation, exercise, and music. They also explored the importance of social media safety and maintaining a positive digital footprint—essential for college admissions and future job opportunities.

Career exploration was a highlight, with students identifying personal values and completing the Holland Career Personality Test to uncover careers that align with their strengths. Lessons on healthy relationships taught key concepts like consent, boundaries, and mutual respect, while a SMART goals workshop equipped students with practical tools to plan for academic and personal success.

It’s been a year of discovery and personal growth—and we can’t wait to see what’s next for these future leaders!
