Over 70,000 women in over 165 communities in 6 countries are engaged in , working alongside their local United Ways and grounded in the idea that addressing the most critical local needs lifts the community as a whole. Women leaders are speaking up and taking action local issues that they are passionate about through their giving, advocating and volunteering.

Since its inception in 2002, chapters have collectively raised more than $1.5 Billion for their communities. The top 5 issues are women’s and girls’ empowerment, school readiness and early grade reading, and family sustaining employment. However, each chapter determines its most important issues, and societal and legislative change is among them. The in Milwaukee focused on teen pregnancy and rates were cut in half through their initiatives, while in Atlanta helped pass a constitutional amendment to create a fund for sexually exploited children.

In Monroe County,  is a network of dynamic and diverse women working together to make our community stronger through philanthropy, advocacy and volunteerism. United Way of Monroe County is looking for women with the common desire to create positive change – to join our efforts in mobilizing the power of women to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community.
