Pocono Mountains United Way is committed to ensuring every Monroe County student has the tools they need to succeed in school. That’s why we run an annual backpack distribution program in partnership with local agencies. This program has given out more than 5,000 backpacks, filled with school supplies, since 2021!

Here’s how it works:

• We partner with non-profit and government agencies who work directly with families & students
• We raise funds throughout the year to cover the cost of backpacks and school supplies
• Agencies let us know how many backpacks they need for their students
• We distribute the backpacks to the agencies for them to give to students*
