Oakwood Terrace

Oakwood Terrace is a residential personal care community that specializes in providing care for individuals with Alzheimer’s or other forms of memory impairment. Through a proper understanding of dementia, much can be done to lessen the effects on the individual and maximize a person’s ability to enjoy life and maintain physical health. Oakwood Terrace has programs that create an atmosphere of respect, dignity, and caring to help residents deal with both cognitive and physical impairments. Key members of the Oakwood Terrace staff are trained in the Montessori-based Dementia Programming (MBDP) through the Myers Research Institute, which uses daily activities to engage the individual and help them to realize the greatest possible level of fulfillment. To help families cope with these challenges, Oakwood Terrace hosts a dementia support group on the third Wednesday of each month. This is an opportunity to discuss concerns, ask questions, and gain support from experts and other caregivers.
