Monroe County Transit Authority (MCTA) – Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP)

Medical Assistance Transportation Program is a transportation service funded by Monroe County Public Assistance. Consumers that are a part of the ACCESS Program (and have a valid ACCESS Card) are eligible to receive transportation to medical appointments and services covered by Medical Assistance. MCTA provides transportation vouchers or mileage reimbursement for individuals that need transportation to Doctor’s appointments & Pharmacy visits. The medical assistance bus services extends North to the Wyoming Valley and South to the Lehigh Valley area. – Participants that live along a fixed bus route receive bus tickets to use for medical trips. – Those who own their own car, or have access to someone who can drive them to appointments, will receive mileage reimbursement. – When either the fixed route bus or mileage reimbursement option are not possible, Shared Ride will be provided. Those using Shared Ride will need to schedule pick-ups during specific times. Shared Ride is only available during specific times, so it may be necessary to rearrange doctor’s visits to fit in to bus schedules. The Medical Assistance Transportation program can only be used for Doctor’s appointments & Pharmacy visits.
